Abstract: Objective To screen risk factors for lung cancer in Qingdao in order to improve lung cancer prevention programs. Methods Patients diagnosed with primary lung cancer (n=563)and a control group of gender-and age-matched trauma patients(n= 149) were surveyed about possible risk and protective factors.Data were analyzed using logistic regression and multiple linear regression. Results Logistic regression identified 19 factors that differed significantly between the case and control groups. In six-factor multiple linear regression, family history, smoking, intensity of life stress(within 5 years),intake of cooked meat products and depression were risk factors, while sports was a protective factor. Conclusions Family history, smoking, intensity of life stress(within 5 years),cooked meat product intake and depression may increase the incidence of lung cancer, while exercise may reduce it.
